Operation Backpack

Thanks to YOU, 6,408 children are ready for school!

Operation Backpack 2013 was a success because of you! Thanks to for giving of your time, your talents and your treasure to help homeless and at-risk youth in our community.

Working together, dozens of organizations and thousands of individuals improved the lives of children in our community.

Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, Tri Counties Bank. We can't do this without you!

Special thanks to sponsors Sutter Health Sierra Sacramento Region, PG&E, our media sponsors Clear Channel Radio and Comcast Spotlight. And thanks to Starbucks for providing 114 drop-off locations throughout the Greater Sacramento Area!

We're already looking forward to another successful Operation next year!

 About Operation Backpack

Thousands of homeless children go back to school each year without any school supplies. Since 2005, Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada and its community partners have donated more than 17,000 backpacks to students in need.

While Operation Backpack began as a drive to collect backpacks and school supplies for the children of Volunteers of America clients, it has since expanded to provide for youth served by many of our fellow social-service agencies, as well as school districts, throughout Northern California.
