Homeless Prevention Program
Volunteers of America's ReStart is comprised of two programs: Mental Health Services and Homeless Prevention. The programs are comprised of a variety of services based on client needs. The Mental Health Support Center provides supportive services designed to increase the self-sufficiency of individuals and families who are coping with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders, and who are at risk of homelessness as well as those currently without permanent housing. The services include permanent supportive housing subsidies and affordable housing placement, psychiatric care, medication management, mental health and substance abuse counseling, intensive case management, outreach, information and referrals. In addition, the program offers psychosocial educational groups, Day Center program with showers, laundry, mail services and a daytime drop in center.
