The funds provided by Archstone support our Senior Safe House, a safe haven for abused and neglected seniors.

“Elder abuse is a crime without boundaries, crossing all racial, social, class, gender and geographic lines. Across the United States, five million older adults are abused or neglected each year, leading to higher rates of hospitalization, nursing home placement, and even death. Archstone Foundation has a long history of supporting innovative work in the field of elder abuse and neglect, and is pleased to support the Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada’s Senior Safe House, which provides short-term shelter to 60 - 70 abused and neglected older adults each year. Established in 1986, Archstone Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation whose mission is to prepare society for the growing needs of an aging society.  Under the leadership of president and CEO Joseph F. Prevratil, J.D., Archstone grants up to $5 million annually, primarily in Southern California.” -Archstone Foundation
