KTVN 2 News: Reno Events Center Housing Homeless

"The Reno Events Center will be housing hundreds of people in need during the coronavirus outbreak. According to the Regional Director for Volunteers of America, Pat Cashell, the Record Street Homeless Shelter will remain open, however most residents will be transferred to the Reno Events Center.

Cashell also says before being transferred, each person will be medically screened for a high temperature and other symptoms. The facility will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. People will be provided enough space to be socially distant. Cashell says in between hours of operation, staff will clean and sanitize the building."
