Volunteers of America Greater Sacramento & Northern Nevada launches new website

(Sacramento, Calif.) — Volunteers of America Greater Sacramento & Northern Nevada “goes live” with its all-new website at www.volunteersofamerica-sac.org today, May 12. Featuring more than just an updated, “cleaner” look, the new site – whose launch coincides with the agency’s centennial anniversary – provides improved, user-friendly navigation, as well as more complete information on the many social-service programs and volunteer opportunities available through the faith-based nonprofit agency.

Established locally in 1911, the Greater Sacramento & Northern Nevada affiliate of Volunteers of America is one of the largest providers of social services in the region, operating more than 40 programs in such categories as: homeless services; homeless shelters; substance abuse treatment and recovery services; mental health services; senior services; youth services; transitional housing; permanent supportive housing; and affordable housing for families and seniors.

Volunteers of America Greater Sacramento & Northern Nevada boasts a paid staff of more than 300, and a volunteer roster of more than 700. Both career positions and volunteer opportunities will be available on the new website.

Volunteers of America, which was founded by Ballington and Maud Booth, is a national organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Through thousands of human service programs coast-to-coast, including housing and substance abuse treatment, Volunteers of America helps nearly 2 million people in more than 400 communities.

Its ministry of service has supported and empowered America’s most vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, seniors, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions.
