VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES GRATEFUL TO HOMEAID AMERICA AND VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA FOR NEW APARTMENTS
Sacramento, CA (August 13, 2018) – Veteran Robert, his wife Angie and their two children have now moved out of their car and into their new home, a two-bedroom, one bath renovated apartment operated by Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada. They are very grateful to now have a true home that is a safe place to raise their children. The family came up with the idea of an ice cream social as a way for the veterans and their families to thank the building teams, orgnaizations, and donors who made their new homes possible.
The Ice Cream Social was hosted by HomeAid Sacramento and Volunteers of America and gave the veterans and their families an opportunity to gather and show thanks in a meaningful way. It also served as a way for everyone to welcome home the veteran families.
When completed by the end of 2018, a total of 12 apartments will add 23 beds for veteran families. Taylor Morrison and USA Properties Fund were the Builder Captains on the project, with KB Home donating much of the furniture through their KB CARES program. Taylor Morrison employees also happily stocked the pantries and brought in a plethora of housewares and linens for families moving in.
