Housing Services

Family Shelter

Intake Process

Intake is available 24 hours/day and must be in person, please come to 335 Record Street, Reno, NV 89512. For more information please call 775-322-9574.

This 108-bed family shelter is one of three shelters located at the City of Reno Community Assistance Center. Featuring 21 units for adults and children, and six rooms for pregnant women in their third trimester, or who have babies aged two and younger, the family shelter provides education, health and job referrals.

Women’s Shelter

A 50-bed emergency shelter for women located at City of Reno’s Community Assistance Center. Services include referrals for permanent housing, health care, education and career opportunities.

Men’s Shelter

Intake Process

Intake begins daily at 10:00 a.m, please come to 315 Record St., Reno, NV 89512. For more information please call 775-329-4141.

Offering emergency shelter for up to 158 single men, the Men’s Shelter also provides support services such as referrals for permanent housing, health care, education and career opportunities.

Mental Health Support Services

Intake Process:

No intake necessary. Open daily 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon, 1:00-5:00 p.m. Please come to 335 Record St., Reno, NV 89512. For more information, please visit the Mental Health Services page or call 775-324-2622.

ReStart is a Volunteers of America program offering clinical and non-clinical services for eligible individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have a mental illness.

Clinical services include:
Psychiatric Services
Medication Management
Individual and Group Mental Health Therapy
Substance Abuse Counseling

Non-clinical components ensure that individual and their families receive access to all the available resources and include:

  • Crisis Intervention and Stabilization
  • Intensive Case Management
  • Daytime Drop-in for Showers, Laundry, Lounge and Refreshments
  • Life Skills Education and Groups

Resource Center

The Resource Center provides homeless individuals access to computers, telephone and mail delivery to help move toward greater self-sufficiency. The Resource Center helps homeless individuals obtain and maintain employment and access additional community resources in a safe, welcoming environment. Open 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
