Shelter from the Storm Table Captain Information & Inspiration

Hello Mighty Volunteers of America Champions,

You are joined by 50 individuals who have also accepted VOA’s invitation to serve as a volunteer Table Captain for our upcoming Shelter from the Storm fundraising breakfast, which takes place on Thursday, May 2nd from 8:00 to 9:00am at the DoubleTree Hotel at 2001 Point West Way, Sacramento CA. Check-in begins at 7:30am.

Your confirmed table guest information is due April 19.

Changes to your guest list must be submitted by April 25.

May 2 will be here soon. With that in mind, I’m offering you an insider’s update on our national Moral Injury Initiative that will be featured during the breakfast program: Please take a few moments to look this over; I want you to know about our work that’s starting on moral injury healing, and the story of one person whose life has been changed. So, when May 2 is finally here and you’re at your table with your guests, you’ll be well briefed and ready to answer your guests’ questions on this topic.

Below, you’ll find a bounty of resources. Scroll down to see all the good stuff.

Send in your confirmed table guest information by April 19.

As a Table Captain, you’ve agreed to fill a table of 10 people including yourself and a “table testimonial” (a current or former client of our programs who will be a guest at your table and share his/her personal journey with your guests during the breakfast portion of the program.)

By Thursday, April 25, any changes to your guest list must be submitted.

Please advise us of any cancellations between this deadline and the breakfast, but refrain from inviting new guests as we need plenty of time to prepare for the event. We request complete contact information from you for all of your confirmed table guests to thank them immediately afterwards for attending.

Insider’s Update on our national Moral Injury Initiative

I’m pleased to give you an insider’s update on a new initiative that will be featured during the breakfast program. In addition to a personal testimonial by one VOA Sacramento program client, we’ll present a short video to introduce our organization and shine the spotlight on one program or initiative. This year, it will be our national Moral Injury Initiative.

Please take a few moments to look over this briefing; I want you to know about our work that’s starting on moral injury healing, and the story of one person whose life has been changed. So, when May 2 is finally here and you’re at your table with your guests, you’ll be well briefed and ready to answer your guests’ questions on this topic.
