You are giving Perla hope for her future

Perla is no stranger to pain. When she was just one month old, Perla’s mother fled to the United States, causing Perla to remain in Honduras under the care of her grandparents.

At the age 11, Perla’s dream came true when her mother reached out to reunite. She eventually made it to the US, and she thought her life would be good.

Unfortunately, after her stepfather began making inappropriate and unwanted sexual advances, Perla and her 3 younger siblings were taken from their mother’s home. Perla was separated from her siblings and, from the age 13 to 18, she lived in 5 different foster homes.

Because of all of these struggles, Perla believed that the only person she could rely on was herself.

She worked hard and graduated from high school.

She knew she wanted to go to college, but without any support, she didn’t know how it would be possible.

Thankfully, in you and donors like you, Perla found another source of support she could rely on.

Through the Dare to Dream scholarship, Perla is now able to attend her local college. She is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice to become either a lawyer or an FBI agent and help others that might be in similar situations.

For the first time, Perla is hopeful and excited for her future.

Because of you, Perla knows she’s not alone. She has an entire community of supporters behind her, cheering her on, and helping her through school.

Thank you for being there for Perla.
